(PRWEB) September 26, 2005 -- HDFEST's 2005 London event will be taking place October 3rd and 4th in conjunction with the Raindance Film Festival at the Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue Theatre. HDFEST, the world's only high-definition film festival, screens films created exclusively with HD technology and all festival content at HDFEST is presented exclusively in High-Definition format. Since 2000, HDFEST has been presenting High-Definition screenings, panels, seminars, and HD equipment demonstrations in cities around the world. About the upcoming London event The Raindance Film Festival states, "We are delighted to welcome back for a second year HDFEST, a traveling festival specializing in the HD phenomenon." The HDFEST 2005 World Tour will also be taking place in South Florida, Helsinki, Los Angeles, and New York this year.
The upcoming London festival will be a historic first as HDFEST will be using the cutting edge high-definition DivX HD format for screening of all festival content. DivX HD compression delivers 720p HD video at 4Mb/s, allowing for an entire DivX HD movie to fit on a single standard DVD. Leveraging the advanced technology of the DivX codec, independent filmmakers can take advantage of flexible, high performance HD creation and playback options. RGB Communications will be providing technical support with HDFEST London projection supplying a projectiondesign Cineo3 projector which has been designed to meet the stringent requirements of emerging e-cinema applications. HDFEST is also pleased to have BBC Production onboard as a HDFEST London sponsor. BBC Post Production facilities are the largest of their kind in the UK. Its extensive range of services includes editing, audio and telecine.
HDFEST's London presentations will include a variety of HD short film selections from the HDFEST 2005 World Tour. In addition to the line-up of HD shorts, HDFEST will be presenting the UK and HD Premiere of the film "Stephen Tobolowsky's Birthday Party." Stephen Tobolowsky is an actor who has appeared in more than 150 film and television projects over the last twenty years making him one of the most busy actors in Hollywood. In this documentary, filmmakers Robert Brinkmann and Andrew Putschoegl follow Stephen on his birthday and document a performance he gives for the cameras and a group of friends, during which he tells stories about his experiences in Hollywood.
The HDFEST London festival will be truly invaluable for the filmmakers or industry professionals interested in incorporating High-Definition cameras and/or HD editing systems into their work. Along with revolutionary screenings of High-Definition content taking advantage of DivX's technology for playback, HDFEST New York will include new panel discussions on HD filmmaking. London panels include "HD Editing: What the Pros Know" and "HD Cameras in 2005 and Beyond: Which Camera is the Perfect Fit?" These discussions will also offer the opportunity for Q&A with industry experts who have been using HD technology since its inception. HDFEST panel discussions give an overview of HD camera choices, and HD editing systems to choose from, along with other considerations many should take into account before making the switch to the High-Definition format.
Dalsa Digital Cinema, DivX, Dolby, BBC Post Production, and RGB Communications are the sponsors of the HDFEST 2005 London event. New Wireless Intercom PA System Eliminates Need for Base Station

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.
16 channel wireless intercom, portable public address system offers convenient Òall callÓ channel and auto lock out.
(PRWEB) September 13, 2005 -- Responding to coaches, event coordinators, theater directors, security personnel, and others in need of a portable PA system with group and one-to-one wireless communication capability, Anchor Audio, the industry leader in portable public address and wired intercom systems, offers its new PortaCom Pro. The PortaCom Pro is the only 2.4 GHz professional wireless intercom PA system combining an automatic lock out feature to keep conversations to two speakers at a time for maximum understanding, with an ÒAll CallÓ channel allowing any user to speak to everyone in a group.
Allowing up to 15 simultaneous groups to operate on 15 user group channels and a separate ÒAll CallÓ channel, the user-friendly PortaCom Pro can bring any size group together for priority calls. Each user group can contain an unlimited number of users within a range of approximately 700 feet. Unlike cumbersome wireless intercom systems requiring a central base station or active antennae, this wireless intercom portable public address system requires just a lightweight headset and beltpack for each user.
Offering a natural conversational feel, the PortaCom ProÕs patent-pending, Omni Point Expandable Network ÒOPENÓ recognizes human speech patterns, enabling it to limit full duplex communication to just two users at once. This enhances understanding since only two people speak at a time while the rest of the group listens, and a new user can speak as soon as a channel is clear.
The ÒAll CallÓ channel allows any user to speak to everyone in the group. When the ÒAll CallÓ operator stops speaking, all users conveniently and automatically revert to their original channel selection. The ÒAll CallÓ operator switches to another channel to disengage the feature.
To secure privacy, this wireless intercom portable PA system provides unique User Selectable Encryption (USE), which prevents eavesdropping from users outside a particular group. Users simply set switches under the battery door to one of 256 unique settings. When all of the belt packs are set to the same settings, no other intercoms or scanners can monitor the transmissions. This feature is particularly helpful for security or sport event-related applications where privacy is critical.
In the 2.4GHz range, the PortaCom Pro has excellent worldwide reception, and is ultra secure from unwanted noise with over one trillion addressing codes. Comfortable, lightweight noise-canceling headsets further improve sound quality in optional single, dual, or mixed headset configurations.
Designed for simplicity, the device can be used by anyone. Getting started is as simple as connecting the headset to the body pack; wearing the headset and positioning the body pack on a belt or pocket; then turning it on and starting communication.
To conserve battery power, the PortaCom Pro is voice activated and has an LED battery indicator. The system is available in four or six packs consisting of headsets, wireless belt packs, power supply wall chargers, and a protective carrying case with custom cut foam.
As a unique wireless intercom portable PA system , the PortaCom Pro is designed to meet the needs of coaches, theater directors, event coordinators, security personnel, and others who need a simple, reliable communication system to conduct their business. ÒItÕs a business tool, technologically sophisticated to be reliable and user friendly,Ó said David Jacobs, President of Anchor Audio.Ó For over twenty-five years Anchor Audio has remained the industry leader in portable sound systems.

Communications Coach Tries Out Newest Form of Communication Ð Podcasting

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.
Executive Communications Coach LeeAundra Temescu finds podcasting to the best sort of marketing, easy, cheap and effective.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2005 Ð It was one of her "techie" friends who suggested it so LeeAundra Temescu, an executive communications coach and a computer novice, was inclined to dismiss the suggestion. Podcasting? DidnÕt that require programming skills, lots of sophisticated audio equipment and well, an iPod?
Turns out, you don't need an iPod to prpoduce a podcast, in fact, you need very little. And when Apple released itÕs iTunes 4.9 which allowed users to not only access podcasts but also list them, Temescu knew it was time to get on the podcasting bandwagon and start using the latest form of communication to market her business and spread her knowledge.
The content was easy, "The Contrary Public Speaker: Communications Coaching for Executives and Those Who Want to Be Them" is a weekly 15 minute discussion of communication tips, commentary and answers to listener questions to help executives and professionals improve their communication skills. And luckily for Temescu, publishing a podcast wasnÕt much harder.
"There are a lot of steps but none of them are particularly hard." She said "it took a while to learn how to edit in music clips and use fade in effects but essentially, it's as easy as talking into a microphone." And her only capital investment was in a headphone/microphone set that cost her about $30.
Temescu uses Audacity, a free program for recording and editing audio and then "burns" the feed (also for free) on www.feedburner.com . iTunes doesnÕt charge a fee to be listed in their Music Store but requires that podcasters provide their shows free of charge.
That's fine with Temescu who doesn't look at her podcast as a potential revenue stream as much as a marketing tool to help her reach her target audience. ÒThe people who need my services, public speaking and executive presence coaching, are successful, ambitious and pretty savvy. That meshes nicely with the people who are listening to podcasts."
So far, the match up seems to be working. Temescu has signed on several clients who first heard of her through her podcasts and her subscriber base has grown steadily since she published her first show a month ago. She also says that it helps her image. "Just as I thought podcasting was something that only big, technically sophisticated, companies could do when I first heard of it, there are a lot of people that are pretty impressed when they hear I have one. It also helps prove that IÕm out there, keeping up with whatÕs new and exciting."
What happens when people find out how easy it is? "Well, I suppose most of the aura will go away but its value will be around for a while. It's really an amazing new phenomenon and once people see how easy it is, everybody will be podcasting."
The Contrary Public Speaker is an executive communications coaching firm based in Los Angeles. Founded by national award winning public speaker, author and commentator, LeeAundra Temescu, it provides high-level presentation skills, in-the-moment training and executive presence for top-level managers and professionals.
